How to Setup the 0563-0104 Waterproof Folding Thermometer

The 0563-0104 Waterproof Folding Thermometer is suited to measuring food temperatures with precision at any stage in production, storage, and processing. The device's key feature is the robust fold-out probe, which is suitable for immersion or insertion into semi-solid objects.

How to Setup the 0563-0104 Waterproof Folding Thermometer

BATTERIES

1. Install the two included AAA batteries. To do so, you will need a small screwdriver. Turn the device over and locate the single screw on the battery compartment cover. Unscrew and remove the lid then install the batteries. There are two further things to note in this area;
   1. The first is the temperature scale switch. Using the switch, you can select the temperature scale between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Rankine.
   2. The second is the label area, located on the underside of the battery door. Here you can insert the included coloured tabs or make your own to label the instrument. This design feature is particularly useful for allocating the thermometer to an individual or for differentiating thermometers in certain areas of your workplace.
2. After installing the batteries, selecting the temperature scale, and the device is labelled, screw the battery door back into place.
3. To switch the instrument on open the immersion/penetration probe and to turn the thermometer off close the immersion/penetration probe.
   

   HOLD FUNCTION

4. To hold a reading press the 'HOLD' button on the top of the device. This action will freeze the current reading on the screen. Press the button a second time to return to the measurement mode. The device will save both the Hold and Auto hold values in memory as Minimum and Maximum values.
   

   MIN/MAX VALUES

5. To access the minimum and maximum stored values, press the hold button once then press and hold down the Hold button again. The maximum reading will appear on the LCD.
6. Pressing a second time will display the minimum value.
7. Pressing the button another time returns to measurement mode.
   

   TURN AUTO HOLD ON/OFF

8. To change the measurement mode between automatic or manual hold, start with the device switched off. Enter the configuration mode by opening the immersion/penetration probe while holding down the hold button.
9. Depending on the preconfigured settings, either Hold or Auto Hold displays.
10. Press the button on the top of the device to select between the two settings.
11. To confirm, press no key for a few seconds and, the device will return to measurement mode.
