| For these requirements we recommend the Therm-a-lert or HOBONode systems. These systems are able to monitor and log temperature information wirelessly and then transmit it back to a central computer (NOTE: The computer needs to be on in order to send alarms and receive logged information). They operate using transmitters (Nodes) that then send data back to a receiver that is connected to your PC. They work on their own network so there is no need to worry about trying to interface them with your current network. The transmitters are mounted outside the fridge and probes are run through the door seal into the fridge. The transmitters take your temperature readings and transmit the data back to the receiver which is connected to your central PC. You can then view the readings within the software in real time or archive them for future reference. The two systems will also allow you to set alarms, and if the set alarm conditions are breached an email will be sent to alert you of this. They are a versatile and simple solution and have been used extensively in hospitals, pharmacies, restaurants and warehouses.
