The SFD-1000-G is a lightning detector that alerts users on possible lightning strikes up to 40 km (25 miles). This model has a motion detection that when activated, would immediately start monitoring for lightning once it senses movement and would automatically shutdown when left on a standstill.
 
  • Provides an early warning system for storm fronts and tracks their movements in real-time, especially when mounted in moving objects such as vehicles, construction equipment or boats.

The SFD-1000 series is a Storm Front Detector utilizing a proprietary design for Storm Safety Awareness of Lightning Strikes in the area
Over 6000 deaths and injuries occur from lightning strikes every year. The SFD-1000 can alert you to an approaching or departing storm front and lightning by sensing the distance of lightning strikes that are occurring in the area via audible and visual alerts, making you aware of potentially life-threatening situations.

Note: Devices that emit electrical noise, such as cell phones, tablets, or computers can cause interference that blocks the lightning detector from being able to receive the lightning signals. If the detector is unable to detect lightning due to electrical noise interference, the detector LEDs will display a flashing sequence of colors. The detector should be a minimum of 3 feet away from these types of devices.
