The Kyoritsu 5410 is a digital RCD tester with the ability to measure RCD trip time and trip out current. Designed to an IP54 rating, the 5410 can measure voltage, detect contact voltage and be battery operated.
Capable of testing RCDs, the Kyoritsu 5410 can measure RCD trip times by conducting tests of residual non-operating currents at x 1/2 range and then measuring the RCD trip time at x 1 and x 5 ranges. Trip out current can also be measured by varying the current automatically.
The Kyoritsu 5410 allows for remote testing, which enables a user to hold the test leads with both hands by locking the Test button. Measurements will automatically start when the main voltage is detected. The instrument also carries out a constant measurement of voltage in the stand-by mode at each range. In addition, the 5410 model is capable of detecting contact voltage automatically. The RCD tester detects the voltage to earth of earth electrodes or protective conductors during the RCD test, when applying test currents (at measurement using earth in order to prevent electrical shocks caused by the damaged earth). The measurement is stopped at 50V AC or greater.
The Kyoritsu 5410 is rated to IEC 60529 IP54, highlighting a dust-proof and waterproof construction, and can be battery operated. The 5410 model features a backlit display, allowing operation in low light conditions, and is supplied with test leads, extension prod, batteries, cord case and shoulder strap.
